Youth power is almost synonymous with strength, freshness, abilities, and possibilities.
April 14, 2006
This was the ringing message of Bro Eli Soriano as he met the 15,000-strong National Youth Convention participants on April 14. This time, KKTK members from key points in the country and the world were able to connect with the activities in Apalit through satellite broadcast, something which was impossible to create then.
While it was the first time that Bro Eli was physically absent on NYC, the tradition of staging the most-awaited Consultation time with him continued.
Consultation is the NYC portion that Bro Eli is offering spiritual and Biblical answers to various problems encountered by a Christian youth in our congregation, the Members Church of God International.
Bro Eli started serving in the Church also in the days of his youth, and now at 42 years he tells the younger members the best use of their capabilities--to use it in good works and help evangelize.
"An enormous energy and the power to do God's will are in each and everyone of you," he says "the ability, will, and effort na makagawa ng mabuti."
He emphasized that our Lord Jesus Christ also started young, as well as David, Timothy, Titus, among others.
The youths are an integral part of a prophecy (Jeremiah 30:19 ff). And from the formal establishment of the KKTK on 1985, this group has shown spiritual maturity and strength. And as proof, most of the Church's workers today are youths. In this way, the younger generation of servants can be agents of truth.
"Laging maging matandain (kayo) sa aral," Bro Eli Soriano advises the youths to study the scriptures. It can be manifested in their ways of living, being against the vile ways of the world.
"Ipakita ninyong iba kayo dahil kayo'y mga Kristiano, at mayroong takot sa Dios na ating pinaglilingkuran," he says.
